    Why do you think people decide to go to school?(改)

    Why people decide to go to school? The answer depends on what is the most attractive thing in the life. Liberalists believe that if some rational people search their minds for the meaning of their life, they will not get the same target. That is, people may have different goals of life, and the content of the goals decide the purpose of the person’s being educated.

    Some people do not have many florid plans for the life of themselves. For them, it will be enough if they get a piece of bread per day. This kind of people go to school to learn some survival skill.

    Some people have a planned picture of their life. This kind of people usually lives with an ambition- ambition of police, ambition of art, or ambition of scholarship. Facing the strong desire of success in their own field, they decide to make themselves powerful enough to handle the task. Then, they turn to school.

    How many purposes we know to be the goals of man’s life, how many reasons they hold while getting in to school. Although people step in to classroom with different minds, they learn for the same thing: the meaning which inserted in their own life.

    英文文章挑錯比賽---大家來找茶

    大家好!!!

    顧名思義, 這是個找出錯誤的比賽

    嗯

    為什麼要辦這個比賽呢

    因為

    很好玩.........:P

    比賽規則:

    規則很簡單

    請各位參賽者閱讀下方張貼的文章

    看完以後儘可能找出所有錯誤

    並訂正那些錯誤

    之後 PM 給純英版正副版主

    為了比賽的公正性, 請勿回文於下方.

    PM 格式如下(未依格式回文可能失去參賽資格) :

    １、首先引用文章

    ２、在引用文章上用不同顏色標出錯誤的地方

    ３、列出有幾個錯誤；錯在哪裡

    4、請訂正這些錯誤

    例:

    參賽者：變不了柚子的橘子

    orange' date='[/color']orange。

    茶包：有三包。

    　　　第一包－文章第一個字要大寫。

    　　　第二包－逗點後面要加半形空格。

    　　　第三包－英文文章不能打全形符號。

    訂正: Orange, orange.

    每一個錯誤+ 訂正算為一組

    每組如果正確就得一分

    最高分者為優勝

    如果有很多個人都全找出一樣多的錯誤並同分

    將以 PM 時間決定順序

    比賽取金, 銀, 銅並兩名佳作 (參賽人多就取五個, 人少就取三個)

    都可擁有頭銜約三十天

    一個參賽者只能回答一次, 並禁止在深藍或知識+求救, 違者失去資格.

    比賽期限為三週: 8/30-9/19, 逾期將不再接受作品.

    4.Insight (n.)

    -Ability to see the true nature of something.

    -Good teachers have insight into children's emotions.

    5.Cosmopolitan (adj.)

    -internationally sophisticated.

    -New York is a cosmopolitan city.

    在美國

    英文課就像台灣的國文吧

    非常重要的課

    像我們

    都是全班讀一本書

    然後討論

    比如說看書評

    看改編的電影

    老師講解涵義

    介紹作者, 風格等等

    如果是劇本的話還會有演戲或辯論

    記得我高一讀羅密歐與茱麗葉的時候

    我們還有開庭+辯論

    審判的是羅密歐還是他的朋友什麼的

    超好玩 xd

    讀到威尼斯商人的時候也演戲

    讀完一本再接一本

    一學期下來唸了不少名著

    另外還有教文法, 寫作, 生字啦

    當然

    還要寫一大堆文章......

    大家的英文課是怎麼上的呢?

    有什麼好玩特別的活動嗎?

    我想問版主你所讀的社區大學叫什麼呢?

    當初你是用哪些成績進去的呢? 是入學前幾個月申請的?

    (不知道方不方便透露)

    爾後的轉學申請是要用哪種成績進去呢? 需要SAT嗎?

    妳們真的會覺得我選擇第二個方案會比較好嗎?

    我並沒有讀社區大學

    我是唸完美國高中以後直接申請UC的

    我的 GPA 成績在 AP加分之前3.67, 加分之後3.83

    SAT 則沒有很高.......... ( 是很爛吧 xd )

    我們高中是在高三的十月申請 UC, 十一月UC截止申請

    不過有些其他大學有跟UC不同的截止日期

    至於社區大學我不知道什麼時候耶~~~

    妳要去問妳要唸的那個 community college

    社區大學轉 UC 應該是不用SAT

    UC 的手冊上有規定社區大學的學生要修完幾個學分

    GPA 至少要多高等等

    (這個條件我晚點找出來........如果找得到XD)

    才會被接受

    有名的社區大學因地而異

    要看他們跟那幾個 UC 有訂合約

    說好 "唸這個社區大學的學生可以轉進某某 UC"

    像我在北加州的 Fremont 這裡

    有一個社區大學叫 De Anza

    就很不錯

    轉 UC 的比率也很高

    第一個方案的前提是要英文好

    不然 SAT 要怎麼拼呢

    我有很多優秀同學申請 UCLA 都沒有進去 (包括我啦, 不過我不優秀 XD)

    第一個方案除非他們想吸收外國學生

    不然希望很渺茫

    第二個方案如果用社區大學取代州立

    成功的機會很大

    好啦

    有其他問題就再回文喔~

    社區大學-----> UC 轉學條件:

    1.

    Complete 60 semester (90 quarter) units of transferable college credit with a GPA of at least 2.4. No more than 14

    semester or 21 quarter units may be taken Pass/No Pass.

    2.

    Complete the following course pattern requirements, earning a grade of C or better in each course:

    - Two transferable college courses ( 3 semester or 4-5 quarter units each) in English compostition.

    - One transferable college course ( 3 semester or 4-5 quarter units) in mathematical concepts and quantitative reasoning.

    - Four transferable college courses ( 3 semester or 4-5 quarter units) chosen from at least two of the following subject areas: the arts and humanities, the social and behavioral sciences, and the physical and biological sciences.

    連接詞副詞應該算是副詞了吧

    不能說他是連接詞了

    他已經失去了連接詞的功能阿

    所以才不能連接其他東西阿 xd

    對等連接詞近年來開始放句首了

    如果有人用遠東的課本

    可以發現滿多這樣的使用

    只是學校老師還是說正式的作文不要這樣寫

    改考卷的教授還沒接受這樣的方式

    在正式的文法裡

    除非是有原因

    不然這樣是錯的...

    第一. 現在就開始一邊準備SAT跟TOEFL一邊準備台灣的學測

    等到台灣有學校後在繼續用全力下去讀SAT跟TOEFL

    明年10月份去考出好成績申請自己夢想中的大學UCLA或是北卡羅來納(教堂山校區)

    在台灣的大學讀一年之後再休學去美國讀4年。

    妳想進的這兩所大學都是名校

    我不知道妳英文程度如何

    可是它們的錄取標準都很高

    如果英文不錯

    這個方案倒是可以考慮

    第二. 一樣現在開始準備SAT跟TOEFL但是盡全力考出成績

    成績出來後交由留學代辦中心去申請至少是加州某州立大學讀一年後

    在轉學到UC的大學得到正式學生的身分

    加州州立大學的錄取標準蠻低的

    也不用寫自傳

    如果英文沒有很好

    考慮這個也不錯

    但是有個缺點:

    從州立大學轉到UC程度的學校難度是不是頗高?

    從州立大學轉到UC的確很難

    UC大概只收申請者的 5~10% (正確數字我忘了 :p)

    我覺得如果要用方案二的話

    妳可以考慮社區大學 Community Colleges

    社區大學轉到UC就簡單得多

    UC好像收百分六十幾的樣子(正確數字我也忘了XD)

    而且又很省錢

    這是我申請UC的時候入學部說的

    我今年要進 UC San Diego 一年級

    如果有問題儘管問唷 :D
