Accept:

My friend offered to help me and I accepted.

我朋友提議要幫我而我也接受了

Receive:

I received a parcel from my friend.

我收到我朋友給我的包裹

Can you see the difference there? You're probably confused because in Chinese, both words are translated as "接受" or something along those lines.

Accept is like saying "yes". For example,

"My friend invited me to her party and I accepted the offer." which is also equivalent to

"My friend invited me to her party and I said yes."

To receive something is when someone is physically giving something to you.

eg. I received a letter from my teacher.

Swear and vow 有小小的不同

不過, swear 也是罵髒話的意識

eg. "Do not swear in front of children."

不要在小孩面前罵髒話

However, both mean "to promise".
