請教一下有關BY THAT TIME 的問題(以解決)

如題...小弟我最近在寫克漏字常常看到BY THAT TIME 或是BY THE TIME..

那它們後面的時態要加什麼呢??

像這樣....KILL用何時態??

或是 By the time you finished practicing, we would have left this place.

應該是這樣吧? 有錯 請再指導

時態主要決定在於事情發生的先後順序

依你舉的例子來說...(假設前後的他為不同人)

如果是解釋成這樣：他到的時候,我已經殺了他.

後面的kill就得用had+Vpp→had killed

哦 原來啊...

那換成BY THAT TIME 也是這樣用嗎??

by the time跟by that time的一個差別在於「距離」的問題

使用that 的時候，說者是將一個時間點看作與目前的時間有一定的距離（無論過去還是未來）

而by the time則沒有這樣一個明確的表示時間距離的因素在內

還有是by the time he arrived, I had killed him其實在某些context下面也make sense

例如在某人去某地的路途中暗殺此人，等這個人到了，他也已經被我殺了
