never join any chinese tour ..... they always try to squeeze every single attraction into the schedule and you'll end up having only a quick look of every spot. there are tons of stuff to go in NYC. depends on what kind of people you are, some can spend the whole week visiting museums, some like to shop in fifth avenue. my advise is plan your own trip. since you can speak english, planning a trip is not a big deal, especially in NYC. you can get all you want by googling.

year, i knew exactly how you feel about those "chinese" tours. it's like they're always on a rush. and the point of their tour is to take pictures at as many spots as they can. there's no time for you to explore the spot deeply. god! really have enough of it. two years ago, joined a local "chinese" tour for the canadian rockies......man that was a disaster. planning to have a week to tour around nyc with my friends and maybe will join a class at nyu with some students from taiwan(don't really want to.....) but .....since i'm not over 18 yet, there are still tons of problems to deal with............

what kind of problem? it's pretty easy to go there, as easy as other american city. my friends and i were planning on going there during spring break. but one of my friends' brother overheard that when he came back from college. he told my friend's mom that it's too dagerous for girls to go there alone ..... let me paraphrase for you "mom, i can take a few days off to go with them" ... girls like us can do it(we already had a whole plan! we even found a hostel .... all because of her bro ....), so do you

as long as you can get a visa, everything is gonna be fine

just to remind you, if you want to apply for the summer class, you should apply it now. i was going to apply for summer schools yesterday, and i found out that most of them were full T_T beside, you probably need an admission from the school to get the visa, right?

well, my problem is that, it's a kind of hard to deal with the accommodation problem, becasue i'm not over 18. looking for a cheap hotel to stay now, don't really want to stay at a homestay. it's not so........free. and the quality is unpredictable. as for the classes, which unversity are you talking about??nyu??? and i already have the visa(went to seattle last summer)

wow wow wow

seems like there's a "mate" planning to visit nyc

i am in new york RIGHT NOW, if you have any questions ,don't be afraid to ask

i think i would probably be considered as one of the few students who left ck high school to study abroad :E

though i may be in taiwan this summer, i still can give you some suggestions about the city

i am not sure whether there is an esl program in nyu or not.

here's the point, i do know "somebody" in the university

and if "unfortunately", i need to stay in ny this summer, i may volunteer in the college of dentistry. therefore, if you have any questions, again, don't be afraid to ask

my aim screen name is: BinomialPDF

i apologize for not reading the whole forum. i'm on a rush (what's my rush? i'm struggling with my upcoming exams) ! but if you have any questions, you're still welcomed to ask me anytime (due to the 12-hour time difference, i cannot always reply immediately = ="" you shall know that!)

by the way, how's everything going in the school?

Well, to tell the truth, I've been to there once.

That was my childhood living near there for about several months.

Because of residing in Baltimore and I love baseball, I hate not only NY yankees but also some of the people.

But to be frank, I consider it a proper environment for people to live in there.(Hope the crime rate decreases)= ="
