找實驗室的技巧

最近要交科展說明書了

我們的科展題目是跟細菌有關的

需要養菌的實驗器材

和跟基因有關的設備

比如說PCR之類的

但是我們一直找不到實驗室

在網路上找到了中研院和清大的兩個研究方向相似的教授

也寫了EMAIL

但是都沒有回音

想請教下怎樣找實驗室

或是怎樣比較容易被回覆

如果我是你的話....

我會直接去找大學教授 問問看他們可不可能借實驗室

如果不行......那就把你們科展的要做的 東西給他們看看

請他們做..........再請他們把實驗數據拿來

老實說教授一直沒有回音

如果是去找教授的話我想我應該能鼓起勇氣吧

但是如果他問奇怪問題我大概就掛點了

不過如果是請教授做在求數據，這樣可以交科展嗎?

純粹是疑問...

其實我們的實驗技術不高

說實在的也是實驗器材的置備

弄幾個培養皿作觀察

另外再做分析的說

教授是都不太愛理高中生嗎?

well...

I won't say asking the professor to "do it for you" is a good idea.

And in fact, why do they have to "do it for you"?

also, I don't think the review committee would allow such type of almost cheating behavior occur.

Most of the professor are willing to take in high school students if they know that you actually want to learn things and know what you expect to get out of the real experience. So, look more into your project, think through that before going to a professor.

Another reason that the professor do not usually reply email is that you make your title too plain. They get hundreds if not thousands of email everyday and most of them are junk. So professors have the tendency to skim through things and filter out those important ones. Change your title, make it more eye catching and send that out again.

I agree with you that do it by ourselves is the most important

part in whole project.If they will do it for us, then why should we

search for help so hard.

I will take your advise to alter the title more captivating, maybe

they will think it as another ad ?= ="

And you just say "think more about the project" means to figure

out the extension ? I know that realize the project and the skill it

content is necessary when we confront the professor.Should we

do more on ampliations ?

My English is poor.I hope you can get it.I am glad for the chance

to practice it.

not necessarily application, but you have to know clearly what you are doing and at least think about the possible outcomes and how those outcomes are revealed through the experiment you ask the professor to help. That way, professor know that you are not merely trying to get a medal but really think about all the details in your own project.

do you know any sort of drug store or workhouse might be able to provide?

(counting basic ones, enzymes, toxic, salt and crystal)

It would be best if it is in Taoyuan or Taipei

depends on how obscure the chemical you need...

if common ones, I heard that 天水路 in Taipei have several chemical store that you can check out...

but for the enzyme, it would be difficult....
