Recently, we use neuters to avoid the sexism. For example, we transform the word "salesman" into "salesperson."

But there are still something bewilders me a lot. Is the word "person" really neuter and impartial?

The word "person" can be regarded as "per son,"which is still a male noun......

我們通常將man置換成person　但是person這個字就不含性別歧視了嗎?

如果所謂激進女權主義者真的要拗出history是個帶有性別歧視的字眼

那麼我可以拗出這世上完全中性的英文單字(表身分的)實在也沒幾個

person　如果看成是　per　son　這兩個字的組合

per的意思可以是every(每一個)

son則是兒子

"兒子"是雄性的子嗣

那麼這仍是個中性化的名詞嗎?　這就不是個性別歧視的單字了嗎　激進女權主義者?

There is nothing sexist about "person." The word "person" has its roots in French and Latin, i.e., "person[n]e" and "persona," respectively. You might have come across "dramatis personae," i.e., cast of characters, in your study of literature. So you see the original meaning carried herein refers to dramatic characters and not male human offsprings. (In both French and Latin, male human offsprings carry the prefix of "fil-".)
