Got my saying? What do you mean?
-
I WAS a student. Graduated about an year ago.
Weather seems to be terrible in Australia - at least if you're in Queensland and Victoria. Sydney's been fine. As for New Zealand - how should I know? :p
Actually...hang on. I remember there's someone in this forum who's in Queensland. I wonder how she's faring......
-
Or just don't make any sense.
Actually, hare core metal bands' name are ok from memory (the ones I know anyway). Wait till you check out death metal band names.
-
Work isn't quite that enjoyable at the moment.
That is all.
-
whose medley is that lol
The Lonely Island. Their songs is usually first shown on Saturday Night Live.
Don't forget "I'm on a Boat" and "Like A Boss" :p

but do tell some classified as emo?
Here you go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_emo_artists
-
if anyone likes emos, do try some works by Radiohead.
I wouldn't really classify Radiohead's stuff as "emo".....They're before emo came into existence. It's more alternative rock.
I recently came across Tori Amos. Her stuff's pretty good as well. Try "Cornflake Girl"

...hmmm...I think you answered my old question before I changed it.
Nevermind.
Ans: I'll get back to you on that.
Q: Anyone jetlagged here?
-
Answer: Well, several answers depending how you look at it.
1. Music from various culture and countries all exhibit different traits and ideas. It's good to be exposed to them as exposure allows you to expand your horizon and help you develop new ideas and inspiration
2. Most Taiwanese pop music are just direct copies of Western music anyways (mostly 90's style) so you might as well.
(Answer 2 is my VERY cynical side. To be honest, I'm quite disastisfied with Taiwanese pop because IT IS almost a direct copy of Western music. These days, it's copy of Jay Chou's music (and even Jay Chou's recent music ain't that original anyways. It's almost a rehash of his old stuff). The only people who are still dishing something remotely original are the old guns but like all other old stars, none of the new generation is listening to them because they think those are for their parents, not for them.
I haven't heard many original Taiwanese pop music recently which makes me really sad. I've found some good underground Taiwanese music - but just like in the Western popular music scene, good music are never popular. The same crap that get sold to the new generation of tweens are always the one that becomes popular.
In short, music industry = add sex and stir. It's not about the music anymore. And this applies to ALL popular music industry. It's about the $$$. *sigh*)
Question: Why is Taiwan still making "idol" dramas which are just a live action version of Japanese manga with bad acting (or just showing Korean dramas)? We used to have such great original TV series. Where did those go?

Yesterday,my cram school teacher taught us a phrase"To change another words",which has the same meaning as"In other words."
But,my school english teacher told me that there isn't this usage of this phrase.
But my English teacher at school told me this phrase doesn't exist.
I confused. Since the Sat is coming, how can a teacher teach a worng thing?
I'm confused. Since SAT is coming up, how can a teacher be teaching the wrong thing?
(Actually, quite often they do. Teachers are human afterall. They can make mistakes. This high school I know taught an ENTIRE syllabus wrong for the whole year and only found out when one of their students went online to check the syllabus 2 weeks before the final exam. The teacher got fired of course.)
So,for the sake of prudence,I asked my cram school teacher again wether this phrase is right or wrong. "Don't worry. It's absolutely right.
He said, "Don't worry. It's absolutely correct."
Then, I check the dictionary,my electronical dictionary, wikipedia(en),even the Google, all of which show that there isn't this usage.(Hoever,it exists in Mainland china's web,but I do feel worried about it)
Then I checked my dictionary, my electronic dictionary, wikipedia (en), even Google and couldn't find the phrase in any of these resources. (However, it exists in Mainland China's search engine, but I don't really trust it)
1.Is this phrase certainly exisit?
2.Do I need to change another cram school instead of this one?
1. Does this phrase actually exist?
2. Do I need to change to another cram school?
(End correction)
Answer:
1. Phrase doesn't exist. It's "In other words". Never heard anything otherwise. Or maybe it existed once upon a time or is in usage in some really bizarre situation and/or place. To me, that phrase sounds like a Google translation error. (From Chinese to English that is)
2. Yes, you probably should change.

Morgan Lai (if she's around) is at MIT. Ask her about applying there. I remember she posted some tips in one of her blogs?
-
會到澳洲玩。
Oh really? Too bad I'll be in Taiwan to take you around. (Aha)
Where in Australia are you going? (sorry - no Chinese input on this computer)
-
I'm tired and really NOT in the mood to work at all - especially since it's only like...4 days till I go back to Taiwan.
Oh, and if I hear ANOTHER Christmas carol, I swear I'm going to break something. They're EVERYWHERE. >_>
Heh - I guess this is random enough rant.

三年了吧

再一個月就要回台灣了. YAY!!!

Winters ARE humid in Taiwan.
因為你不會只有一個冬天, 而是永遠都會有很多冬天 (if that makes sense....)
You can DIVIDE things equally (equally being an adverb of 'divide') but you MAKE things to BE EQUAL....that's the best I can do.
I'll leave this to someone who knows their grammar rules better. :p

No matter how the great grade in English is, I still afraid of talking to him.
Just noticed this part.
PLEASE just try and talk to him as much as you can. Forget about being scared. He probably can't even speak an inch of Chinese so you should feel good that you can at least converse with him in English in some degree.
That and it will make him feel more welcome. My parents hardly talk to my boyfriend because they feel intimidated even though he'd like to strike a conversation with them. Thankfully these days my mum makes A LOT of effort and my dad too to some degree - but it did take them 3 years.
The other complaint I got was from my friend's dad. He complained how my mum never wants to make friends with him - even though it's because my mum freaks out and is too embarrassed to talk to him so seriously, just try and talk to him and forget the embarrassment. They'll appreciate it a lot more than if you act all scared and shy away.

disgustion
I think you mean discussion.....
My favourite musical is Sweeney Todd - NOT that I watch musicals that often but I reckon this is by far one of the best out there.

Queensland is the state next door. As is Victoria. But you might want to check the map and see just how big Australia is. Northern parts of NSW, close to the edge of Queensland is flooded but that's like, 1.5 hour flight away?
Sydney's been a furnace these days. Warm winds. Perfect condition for bushfires. = =|||
