形容詞Adjectives
形容詞(Adjectives)用來形容名詞，它們幫助提供更多關於人事物名詞的資訊，舉例來說:

• The large man sitting beside me called for the flight attendant. The flight attendant was very attentive and polite.

 
使用形容詞(adjectives)能夠使你的文章更加鮮明、有故事性，來比較以下兩個句子。

•  The bird flew out of the window and into the sky.

           vs.

•  The little black bird flew out the window and into the bright blue sky.

第二個句子提供了更多的資訊，因此當你讀到這個句子的時候，腦海中浮現的畫面更加的細膩以及清楚。

 

Adjective order
當你使用多個形容詞時，要記得將它們排在對的位置上:

意見Opinion: What do you think about it? lovely, important, strange, etc.

尺寸Size: How small or big is it? tiny, huge, tall, etc.

年齡Age: How young or old is it? 17-year-old, young, new, etc.

形狀Shape: What shape is it? round, square, triangular, etc.

顏色Color: What color is it? green, pink, grey, etc.

國籍Origin: Where does it come from? Danish, Victorian, Asian, etc.

材質Material: What is it made from? glass, wooden, plastic, etc.

 

Using and to join adjectives
當你使用兩個同種的形容詞時，就使用連接詞and來連接兩個形容詞。舉例如下:

• The man in the red and yellow shirt was waiting outside the door.
